Shaoxing University (SU), approved by the Ministry of Education of China in 1996 is a full-time multidisciplinary university granting bachelor and master’s degrees. It is located in Shaoxing, a historic city widely known for its deep cultural accumulations. Organized within SU are 15 schools, an affiliated hospital and one independent college, offering 61 BA programs in 9 academic disciplines, namely, economics, law, pedagogy, literature, science, engineering, medical science, management and arts. It offers 7 academic masters’ programs and 6 professional masters’ programs, with a total student number of approximately 15,000. The whole faculty totals 1,540, out of which 1,011 are full-time teaching faculty (159 full professors, 302 associate professors and 357 doctoral degree holders).

Scholarship
The successful applicants can enjoy the following scholarship for:
1. Language Programs
Provincial government scholarship: ¥6000/year
2. Undergraduate Programs
l Provincial government scholarship: ¥20000/year
l University scholarship for the first year: ¥16000-24000/year (equivalent to tuition), and/or free accommodation in twin bed room plus a monthly stipend of ¥500 (to be provided in 10 months);
l For those whose academic attainments and overall behavior meet the requirements of the university, they can further enjoy the university scholarship for the following years towards a bachelor degree (years 2-4): ¥16000-24000/year (equivalent to tuition), and/or free accommodation in twin bed room plus a monthly stipend of ¥500 (to be provided in 10 months);
3. Graduate Programs
l Provincial government scholarship: ¥30000/year
l University scholarship for the first year: ¥20000-30000/year (equivalent to tuition), and/or free accommodation in twin bed room plus a monthly stipend of ¥500 (to be provided in 10 months);
l For those whose academic attainments and overall behavior meet the requirements of the university, they can further enjoy the university scholarship for the following years towards a master’s degree (years 2-3): ¥20000-30000/year (equivalent to tuition), and/or free accommodation in twin bed room plus a monthly stipend of ¥500 (to be provided in 10 months);

Application Documents
The following documents (scanned copies) are needed for application:
(1) Application Form for International Students to Study in Shaoxing University;
(2) The first page of passport;
(3) Degree certificate or equivalent certificate (ISCED 2011-Level);
(4) University academic transcripts or equivalent transcripts;
(5) Physical examination report issued by the Chinese government designated medical institution or any designated hospitals in Shaoxing;
(6) HSK test scores and/or certificate of English proficiency (IELTS, TOEFL);
(7) Financial guarantee;
(8) 1-2 recommendation letters.
Application Procedures
1. The Application Formand other application documents are to be presented to the School of International Education of Shaoxing University by the applicant either personally or by email/post.
2. Admission Letter and Visa Application for Study in China will be sent to the admitted applicants.
3. The applicants must go to the Chinese Embassy or Consulate in their home country with the Admission Letter and the Visa Application for Study in China to apply for the student entry visa (X1 visa or X2 visa).
4. Students must register at the School of International Education on time in accordance with the detailed requirements in the Admission Notice.
