February 9, the opening ceremony of the new building of Shaoxing Museum was held. KONE, an international student from our university, delivered a bilingual tour in both Chinese and English for Shi Huifang, Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, and other officials. With fluent language and composed demeanor, he vividly introduced the exhibitions and the profound historical heritage of Shaoxing, winning recognition and praise from leaders and guests present.
At the opening ceremony, three members of the International Students’ Foreign Language Guiding Team of our university, as representatives, were officially appointed as foreign volunteer docents of the museum. Xia Yongjiang, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Director of the Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports (Cultural Heritage Bureau), presented the appointment certificates to them on site.
It is reported that since its establishment in July 2024, the International Students’ Foreign Language Guiding Team of our university has received and served more than 1,000 international visitors, becoming a youthful force for Shaoxing’s international cultural exchanges. In November 2025, the School of International Education, together with four institutions including Shaoxing Museum and Eastern Zhejiang Canal Museum, jointly launched the "Four Museums Youth Window Program", further expanding the university-local collaborative education platform. The program encourages more Chinese and foreign students to apply their knowledge, take an active part in Shaoxing’s cultural inheritance, international communication and urban construction, and continuously inject vitality and wisdom into writing a new chapter of Shaoxing’s high-quality development.
