The Third Group Counseling for International Students: Know Yourself & Connect the World

September.22,2025     Hits:

On the evening of September 21, the third session of the group counseling themed with “Know Yourself & Connect the World” for international students was successfully held in the University Mental Health Center. Co-sponsored by the University Mental Health Association and the Cross-cultural Exchange Volunteer Team, the activity centered on international students’ self-perception and cross-cultural adaptation. Featuring immersive interaction, it helped participants strengthen self-awareness and better integrate into campus and local life.

Over 20 international students took part in the event under the guidance of the host, going through three modules: Multi-dimensional Mirror, Cultural Compass and Blessing Drift. During the Multi-dimensional Mirror session, students depicted self-portraits to candidly illustrate their personal traits and aspirations for the future. In the subsequent Cultural Compass session, attendees anonymously wrote down cultural challenges encountered while studying in China and brainstormed practical solutions together, with Chinese volunteers actively joining in discussions.

The event concluded warmly with the Blessing Drift segment. International students penned encouraging words for peers and themselves on postcards. Heartwarming messages such as “Be brave to try new things” and “You are never alone” struck a chord with all participants, drawing rounds of applause.
