On the afternoon of October 24, to fully implement national anti-drug policies, further enhance international students’ awareness and ability to identify, prevent and resist drugs, and build a solid campus security barrier, Shaoxing University invited Pan Yanxin, a police officer from Yuecheng Branch of Shaoxing Public Security Bureau, to deliver a special anti-drug education lecture for teachers and students of the School of International Education. The University Security Department hosted the event, supported by the campus police service station platform.
Combining authentic real-life cases, Pan Yanxin systematically introduced common types of drugs, the disguised forms of new psychoactive substances, and their addictive mechanisms. She emphatically analyzed the severe harm that drugs bring to personal physical and mental health, family well-being and social order. With illustrated materials and interactive Q&A sessions, she elaborated on key provisions of the Anti-Drug Law of the People’s Republic of China, stressing the critical importance of refusing the first attempt of drugs. Additionally, she shared practical skills to identify drug-related traps and resist drug temptations, reminding all international students to strictly abide by Chinese laws and regulations during their stay in China and continuously improve self-protection awareness and capabilities.
This lecture serves as an important step to deepen university-police cooperation. Leveraging the campus police service station, the university has realized targeted anti-drug publicity covering international student groups. Moving forward, the School of International Education will continue to integrate police educational resources and carry out regular legal and safety education activities. It will strive to build an international defense line for a drug-free campus and create a safer and healthier study and living environment for all international students in China.
