The University Holds Special Meeting on International Student Management and the Deployment of Academic Discipline Promotion Month

The afternoon of November 6 witnessed a special meeting on international student management and the deployment for the Academic Discipline Promotion Month for the International Students. The meeting was presided over by Yu Guofen, dean of the School of International Education.


Shen Ying, captain of the Yuecheng District Immigration Administration Brigade; Sun Yan, deputy director of the Academic Affairs Office; Yuan Shufen, associate dean of the Graduate School; and Wang Peiyong, section leader of the Residential Quarter Administration, delivered speeches on respective international student management. Wu Xiaolin, international student class mentor from the School of Foreign Languages, shared practical experience in student administration.


Yu Guofen delivered a comprehensive mobilization and deployment initiatives for the 2025 Academic Discipline Promotion Month for the International Students. Centering on three key priorities - learning attitude, class attendance, and academic performance - the campaign will be implemented in four weekly phases. A series of themed activities will be launched successively, including the inaugural International Student Career Planning Competition, USX I TALK salon, and the Academic Achievement Exhibition Week, aiming to foster a rigorous, diligent and positive academic atmosphere among international students.


The meeting pointed out that the university is currently in a critical stage of advancing international student education accreditation. Serving both as a routine arrangement and a mobilization session for consensus building and targeted improvement, the meeting demonstrates the university’s firm determination and solid capacity for internationalized education. The meeting emphasized four key requirements: to enforce strict discipline and build a solid firewall for standardized management; to stimulate academic initiative and strengthen core talent cultivation capabilities; to create a positive campus atmosphere and cultivate civilized learning habits; and to enhance collaborative efficiency to bridge the final gap in management and services. Joint efforts will be made to establish an outstanding international student education management system that meets contemporary university standards.


Attendees included officers from the Yuecheng District Immigration Administration Brigade, directors of the Graduate School, the Academic Affairs Office and the Student Affairs Department, administrative deans of internationalization from relevant secondary schools, class mentors of international students, and all staff members of the School of International Education.
