On December 14, the inaugural founding ceremony of the International Student Union of Shaoxing University was held in the conference room on the 7th floor of the Geotechnical Engineering Building.

Hu Yunjin, vice president of the University; Xu Kai, captain of the Yuecheng District Immigration Administration Brigade; Xuan Haijiang, director of the Student Affairs Department; Pan Yiyu, secretary of the University Communist Youth League Committee; Yu Guofen, dean of the School of International Education, together with principals of relevant functional departments, personnel in charge of international student training units, class mentors and counselors for international students, all international students and Chinese student representatives attended the ceremony. Wang Xuchu, vice dean of the School of International Education, presided over the event.

During the ceremony, Pan Yiyu announced the appointment documents for the first International Student Union. Xuan Haijiang released the name list of assistant counselors and assistant class mentors for international students. On behalf of the Immigration Administration authority, Xu Kai extended congratulations on the founding of the union. He stated that his department would further deepen cooperation with the University and offer support in legal and policy consultation, visa and residence formalities, as well as safety education campaigns.

Vice president Hu Yunjin put forward three expectations for the union. He hoped the Union would act as a responsible spokesperson for international students, a messenger of cultural exchanges, and a practitioner of virtue pursuit and truth-seeking. He stressed that the University would fully support the Union's duties. Meanwhile, he required the School of International Education and all relevant departments and schools to strengthen guidance and support, so as to create a sound environment for the Union to perform its responsibilities.

According to reports, members of the first International Student Union come from seven countries, including undergraduate and postgraduate students from seven schools such as the School of Intelligent Engineering and the School of Civil Engineering. The Union will undertake coordination and communication work on behalf of all international students, marking that international student management, service, education and supervision at our university have entered a new stage of organization and standardization.
